Mississauga North Bengals Joined OSBA in 2006. History: The Bengals had a very successful run in SOBA’s where they won the provincials in 2003 and 2004. Their first year in OSBA they were 13-12-1 and then beat Bloor 2-1 in the playoffs including one game where they came back from a huge early deficit. There luck would not hold in the next round as they were swept 2-0 by the Stars. In 2007, a weak 12-15-1 record had no bearing on a great playoff run that saw them beat the Twins 2-1, then sweep the Bulls 2-0, beat the Stars 2-1 before eventually losing 3-1 to the Dodgers. OVERALL OSBA RECORD : 34-35-2 (.493 Winning Percentage) History with Bulls : The Bulls welcomed the Bengals to OSBA at the start of the ’06 season with a sweep. 3-0 in Game 1 with a Leyland shutout and 2-0 in Game 2 with a McKnight shutout. They met again in the OSBA tournament opening game where the Bulls won 9-5. McKnight cg win. In 2007, they met in Burlington early in year and Bulls won Game 1, 1-0 behind a Kozak shutout with the winning run scoring on a wild pitch on an intentional walk. In Game 2, Conlon pitched a great game, but lost 2-1. The next time they met in Mississauga, the Bulls dominated game 1, 12-0 with Willitts getting the win relieving for an ejected McKnight. Kozak got CG win, 9-1 in game 2 and the series is also known for the Bulls hitting 4 HR’s back to back. The teams met once more in quarter finals of OSBA tournament where Bulls won 6-3. Kozak got the win and Swagers the save. In the playoffs, the Bengals shocked everyone by beating the Bulls in two 1-0 games. Leyland and Kozak both took losses and the Bulls offense just couldn’t solve Menenzes and McDermid.
