With the exit of a few players and some roster spots open, the Bulls went with their mandate of “filling from within” and the most logical choice was 3B Cameron Kirby. Kirby played last year with the GHBL Bulls where he helped lead them to a championship and established himself a 5/6 hitter in a very potent line-up. He hit .316 for the GHBL Bulls with only 2 K’s in 38 AB’s. Kirby is a left handed hitter whose defensive role on the team is still to be determined, but could be utilized as a backup to Brad Guy and 3B. He becomes only the second left in the Bulls line-up joining Jamie Kozak. Kirby likely would have joined the Bulls as a callup for more games last year, but a situation where he played in the opening games of the season for Bloor (in an attempt to help Bloor get to 9 players) caused him to be ineligible. He did come to some tournaments with the Bulls and posted solid numbers there with wood with a .400 batting average. Kirby originally came to the GHBL Bulls through Andrew Swagers and instantly became a very likeable guy present at many Bulls pre-season practices.. Team chemistry has always been as important as performance and the Bulls have no doubt Kirby will not only perform, but become a sold contributing member of the team on and off the field.
